The full-color catalog represents a new brand and new look for the Wilder Foundation Publishing Center. WilderBooks is the brand, and the catalog features new editions and themed book collections. Wilder markets these books nationwide to other non-profits and foundations.

The Wilder Foundation (based in St. Paul, Minnesota) serves the needs of other non-profits through publications addressing the unique challenges in non-profit start-up, operation, fundraising, and management. With a growing book list and increasing marketplace competition, the Wilder Foundation needed a more effective direct mail catalog to promote awareness and increase sales. Formerly printed as a 6x9" two-color booklet, we recommended increasing the size to 6x10 1/2" and printing full color throughout. This greatly increased the space available for book descriptions and customer testimonials, and makes the catalog more visible to their target audience.

To accommodate Wilder's expanding offerings, we divided books by color-coded sections, including prompts to order forms and online ordering methods throughout the catalog. We chose to brand the catalog 'WilderBooks', giving it a masthead that will be present throughout future catalogs, creating stronger recognition, and a tone that is more magazine-like than typical direct-mail. Careful consideration was given to paper weight, size, and orientation to maximize our compliance with postal codes and minimize costs to the client.
