The Minnesota Chapter of the Nature Conservancy is one of the most active, and most influential voices for the environment in the Midwest. Their mission of preservation extends both to large tracts of public land, and to reclaiming smaller, private parcels. With dedication and the strength of their volunteers, the Nature Conservancy preserves portions of every ecosystem present in the state -- from mesic prairie to northwoods. For five years, our relationship with these terrific people involved the production of an annual report. The annual served two primary functions: to report on the significant advances of the last year (and thereby generate interest for potential members), and to recognize the outstanding contributions of their donors and friends. Each annual report over that five-year period focused on a particular ecosystem in Minnesota, and elaborated on its delicate character, unique plants, native animals, and its preservation status.
The Nature Conservancy Annual was recognized by AIGA/MN with a Design Green
Award in 1999.
